Every teacher is a blessing to an educational institution. A teacher is a gift from God to the children. A teacher is a beacon, a guide, a philosopher, a friend, a Guru, a counselor, a motivator, an innovator, an optimistic, risk taker, an on looker, a good formator, a silent listener, and above all a Godly person. In order to be an inspiring person to others he/she should have to be more disciplined, systematic , sincere, energetic, cooperative, faithful and hardworking in the profession, duties and responsibilities entrusted to; The following are some of the guide lines useful to succeed in the career and to reach the target with a right vision by performing the right mission.
ST.MARY’S PUBLIC SCHOOL   put forward certain objectives and directions to be followed by all the teachers working in this institution with a broad mind and a generous heart.

  • The time schedule of the school is 9.00 to 3.30 on all the working days. All the teachers are requested to present in the school by 8.50 am.
  • When you reach the school, kindly sign the register kept in the principal’s room before 9.15 for forenoon session and before 1.00 pm for the afternoon session.
  • Every day we have teacher’s prayer in the principal’s chamber. All the teachers are requested to participate in the prayer session at 9.00 am.
  • Teachers who the first period should have go to the respective classes immediately after the Prayer.
  • The Academic plan has to be submitted on every month completing all the requirements for the approval of the principal. No, column should be left incomplete.
  • The causal leave permitted for the teachers is one per month.
  • Late coming as well as taking leave has to be informed the principal in advance.
  • No teacher should leave the campus early without prior permission.
  • The usage of mobile phone in the staff room, corridor and in the class, room is strictly prohibited.
  • No teacher is permitted to contact the parents through their mobile phone during the class time. If emergency occurs such matters should be directly brought to the notice of the principal or to the office staff.
  • If possible, kindly observe silence in the staff room during the Class time. No clique formation and group wise discussion is entertained.
  • It is compulsory to speak English in the staff room from 9 a to 4.30pm.
  • If any special classes are arranged, kindly inform the principal in advance.
  • No individual celebration is allowed.
  • Correction of notes, giving simple and correct notes and handouts are highly expected from the part of an inspiring teacher.
  • Conducting test paper after each chapter is a must.
  • Special preferences are to be given to the weaker students. If possible, try to help them in their studies by spending extra time for them and also to keep the record of the same.
  • All teachers have to see to the cleanliness and discipline in the school as well as in the class rooms.
  • Teach at least two or three new words during your class time.
  • Interact with the students only in English and at the same time keep a respectful distance from the students.
  • Kindly present for all the common programmes PTA meeting, Celebrations, Sports Day, Annual Day etc.
  • No partiality is shown towards students.
  • Kindly not bring any family matters, home business to the school and vice versa.
  • Question papers for the exams are to be examined and verified thoroughly before being given for printing.
  • Please keep your table and place neat and clean
  • No teacher is supposed to disturb the other teacher during the class time talking at the doors.
  • Make use of the smart class facility as far as possible.
  • Complete the assignments, project works and lab works in time.
  • Don’t sit and take class.
  • Submit your leave letter, on the very next day of your leave.
  • Cooperate with the non-teaching staff.
  • Have a pleasant smile always on your face.
  • Please add an extra to all your activities.
  • Try to make the teaching impressive and inspiring.
  • Help and contribute your best in the activities of the school.
  • If somebody is inside in the principal’s room, wait until the person comes out or use the intercom facility when emergency occurs.
  • Proper and smart dress coding is appreciated.
  • Avoid too fashionable and colorful wearing.
  • Keep a good relationship with the office staff.
  • Appreciate and encourage each other.
  • Always see the positive of the other.
  • Have a gentle and frank approach to the management.
  • Greet the guests when you come across on the verandas and on your way.
  • Receive the parents and other guests with open arms
  • Consider the institution as your own.
  • Special attention to be given to the students while travelling in buses and on boarding stations.
  • Speak always the positive of the students and the institutions to the public’s.
  • Class Teachers Marking of regular attendance is a must. After the end of each month the books have to be submitted to the Principal.
  • Write the cumulative records from the beginning itself.
  • Conduct at least three personal meeting with the students in a year.
  • Maintain discipline , cleanliness and decorum of the class rooms.
  • Teach the students the basic etiquettes of speaking, eating, chatting and behaving.
  • Prepare the students for the curricular and extracurricular activities and for assemblies in advance.
  • Consider the weak students in the class and do what is needed for them. Keep a record of the same.
  • Motivate the students for all he activities.
  • Keep all the records neat and ready in time.
  • Have a sound and cordial relation with the parents. It is permitted to contact and meet the parents very frequently regarding the study matters as well as their character formation.

Recommend the principal to conduct the class PTA very frequently.
